7th Forum on Respiratory Tract Infections (RTI 2025)
3rd - 5th February 2025, Glasgow, Scotland
STS are pleased to endorse the 7th Forum on Respiratory Tract Infections, to be held on 3-5th February 2025 in Glasgow. The Forum will cover a range of topics, including pneumonia, COVID-19, respiratory viruses, chronic lung infections, as well as mycobacterial and fungal diseases. We anticipate an engaging and dynamic environment for learning and fostering new collaborations. Respiratory Conference
7th February 2025, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow/Online
Join this event to hear the latest updates in respiratory medicine. Some of the topics that will be covered include obesity, athletes, allergy, AI in respiratory radiology and patient management, biologics & COPD and Vasculitis & the lung. Those joining the conference in person at the college will have the chance to meet and network with our conference experts and colleagues. However, if you can’t make it to Glasgow, you’ll still be able to attend the conference online.

NHS Scotland Academy
Tuesday 11 March 2025, Glasgow University Clinical Skills Centre
Designed for respiratory trainees on a Scottish Training Programme and Consultants working in Scotland, to gain hands on practice of EBUS.
The course is designed to provide an in-depth introduction to Endobronchial Ultrasound, using a mix of didactic lectures and hands-on training using cadavers. There will also be an introduction to the new Bronchoscopy Training Pathway. Endobronchial Ultrasound training will be provided on cadavers. The course objective is that participants understand mediastinal anatomy, indications and limitations of EBUS and the skills required to perform EBUS safely and effectively.
Places are strictly limited to ensure that delegates will receive maximum hands-on experience. Registration is free to Scottish trainees and consultants.

Wednesday 12 March 2025, The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel, Clydebank
The course is designed for clinicians who are currently performing bronchoscopy and EBUS in Scotland. The day will provide update on latest standards, guide you through the new simulation based training program and how you can help support trainees in your area. International experts will discuss and demonstrate how they perform and teach comprehensive nodal staging by EBUS. Following a series of lectures and interactive discussions in the morning, you will have ample opportunity for hands on practice with the simulator. By the end of the day, you will understand the rationale for change and how you can deconstruct procedures to ensure the best experience for trainees in your area. This will be a relaxed and interactive course with expert UK and international faculty sharing their experience.
Places are strictly limited to ensure that delegates will receive maximum hands-on experience. Registration is free to Scottish consultants who are involved in training on bronchoscopy and/or EBUS.

Online Edinburgh Thoracic CT Course
17 - 18 March 2025, online
This 2-day online course is especially geared towards clinicians and trainees who are looking for a deeper understanding of CT scanning of thoracic disease. The course, which has now been running for several years, includes a combination of lectures and hands on CT scan review. Most of the lectures are delivered pre-recorded but some may be live. This course is being held entirely on-line and the online platform also offers access to around 200 thoracic CT scans for review.
On-line access to the lectures and cases is available to delegates for four weeks after the course. A discounted registration fee is available for those in training and for early registration. A discounted self-directed 4 week access to the on-line material is also available. This Course provides 13 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists.
